A little more about me and the work that I do

I'm a seasoned product manager with over 10 years of experience in the tech industry. I'm passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and creating value for customers. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and have a strong track record of delivering innovative and user-centric products.

I love what I do and have a knack for translating complex concepts into simple and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. I also have a deep understanding of researching market trends and customer needs, and I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to launch.

Near, VP of Product Strategy

Near acquired UberMedia in 2021, and is the world’s largest source of actionable insights on people and places, with data covering 1.6B+ people. As VP of Product Strategy, I designed and guided implementation of the US division's product vision & strategy.

UberMedia, VP of Product Strategy

As VP of Product Strategy, I led strategy and guided implementation for the company's pivot to location analytics. A business unit that grew the company by 7x and led to it being acquired by Near.com in 2021.

UberMedia provides location data & intelligence to analysts at large enterprises in commercial real estate, retail, advertising, and more. As VP of Product Development, I led the Research and Development team, and new product initiatives associated with location analytics and mobile SDKs.

Cintric, CoFounder & CEO

Cintric introduced the first battery-efficient SDK and developer tools for mobile background location tracking, and provided enterprises with a powerful platform for exploring consumer behavior and insights. Cintric was acquired by UberMedia in 2017.

Lookit is a social platform focused on positive interaction and the collection of product sentiment data. Lookit participated in The Brandery, a top 10 startup accelerator with deep connections to brands like P&G, Kroger, Luxottica, and more.

Freelance, Software Engineer

Built mobile applications for restaurant, publishing, social media, fitness, and gaming clients using Objective-C and various backend services. Built and launched three mobile apps of my own in social media, fitness, and augmented reality gaming. Used innovative technologies like facial recognition, geospatial AR, and heart rate detection through the iOS camera.

Scuba Diving
I'm an advanced-certified scuba diver with 110 dives, and have dove all over the world, including Egypt, the Philippines, Columbia, Mexico, and more. I prefer warm water diving, but dove cold a lot in LA.
Portland Soccer
One of my favorite things about living in Portland is how much the city loves soccer. My wife and I can typically be found at Providence Park or a local soccer bar on MLS and NWLS game days.
Travel
I've visited over 50 countries, and love the "we're not in Kansas anymore" I get from travel. My top three favorite Countries I've been to are: Ukraine, Botswana, and India.
Backpacks
I enjoy collecting and reviewing backpacks and slings from indie bag designers. My top three favorite bags are: WANDRD PRVKE (21L), Remote Equipment Bravo 18, and the WANDRD Roam Sling (9L).
Battlebots
I am a huge fan of super-heavyweight combat robotics, specifically the Battlebots series. My wife and I never miss an episode, and have attended the live taping of the show multiple times.
Skateboarding
I'm got way into casual (non-trick) skating when I moved to LA, and then transitioned to electric skateboards. I'm currently trying to reduce my collection of skateboards and e-skates so I can have more room in my storage.
Mountain Biking
I love getting outdoors, but crave a faster pace than hiking. Mountain biking scratches that itch for me. I have two mountain bikes, including an electric one that is currently my favorite.
Podcasts
I'm a voracious listener of podcasts, and almost always have one on in the background. My top three podcasts are: The Lawfare Institute's Rational Security, The Indie Hackers Podcast, and Scamfluencers.
Battlestations
This is a tongue and cheek name for the community of nerds who create elaborate computer setups. I am one of these, and have spent far too much effort on outfitting and customizing my office and desk space.
Weightlifting
I used to be very into bodybuilding and reached a 500lb deadlift a number of years ago. I just lift casually now though, and enjoy going to the gym less frequently than I once did.

I love documentaries. My favorites are one that explore offbeat subcultures or scandals. My top 3 documentaries: King of Kong, Tickled, Searching for Sugar Man.

Virtual Reality
I've been way into VR for a number of years now, and love trying out new hardware when it's released. I typically play VR games when I ride my stationary bike. Really helps pass the time!
Motorcycles
I've been riding motorcycles since I was 18, and have had nine different bikes because I love trying new styles of riding. I have restored a couple myself as well as turned one into an art project by covering it in illustrations.
Stand Up Paddleboarding
After moving to Portland, I gave up surfing and adopted Stand Up Paddleboarding as my primary water hobby. I still miss beaches, but it's been a great way to regularly get out on the water.
